Erika Lemay and Douglas Kirkland live exhibition
at the 66th Venice Film Festival
Erika has been invited, together with legendary photographer Douglas Kirkland, to the peak event of the 66th Venice Film Festival VIP Terrace. For this occasion, she performed the world preview of DIVINA, an aerial contortion act on straps, under a water screen. She also presented her world famous hand-balancing on canes act: DANCE ON HANDS.
A World Premiere Concept
The concept conceived by Marco Acerbi showed a live slideshow depicting 50 years of cinema by the icon maker of water screens. Most of the shots already marked memories worldwide and can be admired in the book A Life in Pictures . The living museum of Hollywood stars ended with the recent pictures of Erika representing the Siren of the Lagoon, who came to life and performed her last act. A clearly moved Douglas Kirkland joined her on stage and delivered a very vivid and energizing speech about the ephemeral beauty he had just witnessed.

Tra i luoghi simbolo di questa 66ma Mostra del Cinema di Venezia c’è ad esempio la Quintessentially-WinWin Azimut Terrace, il raffinato spazio lounge firmato dai designer Luca Bernasconi e Luca Trazzi dove rilassarsi (c’è anche una sorta di spa per godere di massaggi d’ogni genere) tra una proiezione e l’altra e magari fare incontri interessanti. Qualche nome?
Come foto testimoniano, proprio oggi alla terrazza, sono passati Eva Mendes e Nicolas Cage, entrambi protagonisti del film di Werner Herzog “Bad Lieutenant“, in concorso nella sezione Venezia 66.
Presentato un atteso slide show del fotografo Douglas Kirkland, celebre ritrattista di star che ha iniziato la sua carriera negli anni sessanta lavorando per le riviste Look e Life e che ha scattato sui set di oltre cento film creando iconiche immagini di Marilyn Monroe e dei più grandi personaggi di Hollywood. L’elemento innovativo dello slide show, proiettato a Venezia in anteprima mondiale, è che sarà proposto su schermi ad acqua. Lo spettacolo ideato da Marco Acerbi , sarà inoltre impreziosito dalla performance artistica di Erika Lemay , già una stella dei più importanti eventi del Cirque du Soleil e del suo Arte Physical Poetry che rappresenta le più grande "brand di lusso" e manifestazione artistiche del mondo.
Protagonista anche di alcuni scatti del fotografo, nei quali viene ritratta nell’ inedita versione de “La Sirena della Laguna” indossando un vestito con un lungo strascico.
